The Village has received a second grant from the Fund for Lake Michigan for $65,000. The grant funding will be used to develop a funding and legal framework and design for stormwater improvements that span public and multiple private properties.
The first grant from the Fund for Lake Michigan was for $75,000, which was used to create an engineered flow path model and complete social mapping of stormwater issues in the Pelham-Heath neighborhood. Additionally, the grant was used to construct three (3) prototype ditches on King Road to serve as an "outdoor classroom" for challenging drainage situations. The Pelham-Heath neighborhood is bound by Brown Deer Road to the north, Lake Drive to the east, Fox Point village limits to the south, and the railroad tracks to the west.
